Roman Catholic Irene, daughter of Louis Esperance Deuning (son of John Nicolaas
Deuning and Louise Anselin) and Juliana Augustina Simon (daughter of August
Simon and Alida Kerver). Irene's father was a bookkeeper on a tabacco plantation in Klaten on Central Java which is the property of H.G.Th. Crone. On 4 November 1947 Irene's father died due to a heart attack in a Japanese camp and is buried at the Dutch Military Honorfield Cemetery in Menteng Pulo, Djakarta. Mother Juliana re-married to George Simon (?).
